The song below is to the tune of B-I-N-G-O! Listen to your child sing it!
Raz-Kids is a wonderful online program that allows your child to have access to many books at his/her independent reading level. Your child can read and listen to books online and afterwards he/she can take a quiz to check for understanding. It is important that when your child is reading the story aloud, a parent needs to be present in order to check for fluency and accuracy. Your child must read all the books and pass all the quizzes before advancing to the next level
Raz-Kids can be used on your computer (MAC or PC) through the website, Raz- Kids. You can download the Raz-Kids APP for your IPAD or ANDROID tablet. I will award students with stars and messages. When using the APP on your IPAD, the teacher name is jweinstein. Every child has a unique login which you have received.

Today, we got a sneak peak into Miss Weinstein's shoe collection!
When Miss Weinstein packs shoes for a trip, they often have a purpose. For example, the purpose of her high heels is to look fancy at a party she may be attending. The purpose of her snow boots is to stay warm when she goes skiing. She wouldn't dare wear her soccer shoes at the fancy party or her snow boots at the beach. "Purpose" is similar to a job or "the reason why."
Just like shoes, books have a purpose. Today we learned that we read different books for different reasons. We will continue to explore the shoe analogy next week as we prepare to choose our own books for our book boxes.
